Micantis Acceptable Use Policy
Guidelines for responsible use of our services

Overview
This Acceptable Use Policy ("Policy") governs use of the Micantis WorkBook platform and related services ("Service"). This Policy applies to all users and is incorporated into our Enterprise Service Agreement and Website Terms of Service.
Violation of this Policy may result in suspension or termination of access to the Service.
Permitted Uses
The Service is designed for legitimate business purposes related to battery testing, analysis, and research. Appropriate uses include:
- Battery Testing Data Management: Upload, storage, and analysis of battery test data
- Research and Development: Scientific research and product development activities
- Quality Assurance: Testing and validation of battery performance
- Educational Use: Academic research and teaching (with appropriate license)
- Business Analytics: Data analysis and reporting for business decisions
- Integration Activities: Connecting the Service with other business systems via our API
Prohibited Uses
You may NOT use the Service for any of the following:
Legal and Compliance Violations
- Any illegal activities or violation of applicable laws or regulations
- Infringement of intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights
- Violation of export control laws or trade sanctions
- Money laundering, fraud, or other financial crimes
Security and Technical Misuse
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
- Penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, or security research without written permission
- Introducing malicious code, viruses, malware, or harmful software
- Attempts to disrupt, damage, or impair the Service or other users' access
- Circumventing security measures, access controls, or usage limitations
- Cryptocurrency mining or similar computationally intensive activities
- Excessive automated requests that impact Service performance
Data and Content Restrictions
- Uploading data you don't own or lack permission to use
- Processing personal health information (PHI) without appropriate safeguards
- Storing or transmitting confidential information of third parties without authorization
- Using the Service to store or distribute illegal content
- Attempting to extract or reverse-engineer our proprietary algorithms or processes
Inappropriate Behavior
- Harassment, threats, or abuse directed at other users or Micantis personnel
- Impersonating others or providing false identity information
- Sending spam, unsolicited communications, or promotional materials
- Creating multiple accounts to circumvent limitations or restrictions
AI Assistant Misuse
When using optional AI Assistant features:
- Do not attempt prompt injection, jailbreaking, or manipulation of AI responses
- Do not use for legally binding decisions without human review
- Do not attempt to extract training data or model information
- Do not submit sensitive personal information or confidential data inappropriately
Commercial Restrictions
- Reselling, sublicensing, or redistributing the Service without authorization
- Using the Service to compete directly with Micantis
- Benchmarking or performance testing for competitive purposes without permission
- Exceeding usage limits or resource quotas specified in your agreement
Data Usage Guidelines
Appropriate Data Types
- Battery test measurements and results
- Test configurations and parameters
- Analysis results and reports
- Technical documentation and metadata
- Business information related to battery testing
Inappropriate Data Types
- Personal health information (unless HIPAA-compliant configuration)
- Classified or government-restricted information
- Third-party confidential information without proper authorization
- Personal information unrelated to business use of the Service
- Copyrighted content without proper licensing
Resource Usage
Fair Use
- Use computational resources reasonably for intended battery testing purposes
- Respect storage quotas and data transfer limits
- Implement appropriate caching and retry logic for API usage
- Report unusual usage patterns that might indicate security issues
API Usage
- Follow published rate limits and usage guidelines
- Include appropriate User-Agent headers in API requests
- Implement exponential backoff for error handling
- Do not attempt to circumvent API limitations
Reporting Violations
How to Report
If you become aware of violations of this Policy:
- Email: abuse@micantis.io
- Subject Line: Include "AUP Violation"
- Information: Provide specific details about the violation
- Evidence: Include relevant documentation or screenshots if available
What We Investigate
- Security incidents or attempted breaches
- Inappropriate or illegal content
- Abuse of Service resources
- Harassment or threatening behavior
- Violations of data usage guidelines
Enforcement
Investigation Process
When violations are reported or detected:
- Initial Review: We investigate reported violations promptly
- Documentation: We document findings and evidence
- User Contact: We may contact the user or customer organization
- Corrective Action: We determine appropriate response based on severity
Enforcement Actions
Depending on the severity and nature of the violation:
Warning
For minor or first-time violations:
- Written notice of violation
- Request for immediate correction
- Monitoring of compliance
Temporary Suspension
For serious or repeated violations:
- Temporary access suspension (24-72 hours typically)
- Required acknowledgment of Policy before restoration
- Enhanced monitoring period
Account Termination
For severe violations or failure to comply:
- Immediate termination of Service access
- Data retention per standard terms (30-day export period)
- Potential legal action for illegal activities
Law Enforcement
For illegal activities:
- Cooperation with law enforcement as required by law
- Preservation of evidence as legally required
Appeal Process
Users may appeal enforcement actions by:
- Emailing legal@micantis.io within 10 days
- Providing explanation and any mitigating circumstances
- Requesting review by senior management
Updates to This Policy
Change Process
- Material changes require 30-day advance notice
- Notice provided via email and platform notification
- Continued use after notice period constitutes acceptance
- Version history maintained at micantis.io/policy-updates
Emergency Updates
- Immediate updates may be made for security or legal compliance
- Users notified as soon as reasonably possible
- Retroactive acceptance not required for emergency updates
